1. Goslings and geese live larvae immunization: Goslings of goslings that have not been immunized with goslings live larvae, or goslings of gooses that have been immunized for 100 days after live geese with live larvae, after hatching 1-2 days immunization was performed by subcutaneous injection of live goslings. Within 7 days after immunization, isolation and rearing are required to prevent the onset of infection due to wild virulent infection before immunity is generated. Goslings immunized 7 days later have immunity and are basically resistant to virulent infections without disease.
The goslings produced by immunized geese within 100 days of immunization have maternal antibodies and should not be immunized with live vaccines. The maternal antibodies can neutralize the virus in live vaccines so that live vaccines cannot produce sufficient immunity and the immunization fails.
2. Anti-serum immunization of goslings: In areas where there is no gosling prevalence, susceptible goslings can use homologous (goose) antiserum at 1-7 days of age, and each chick is injected subcutaneously with 0.5 ml. In areas with gosling prevalence, susceptible goslings should use the above-mentioned serum at the age of 1-3 days, 0.7 ml per chick. Note that heterologous serum (prepared by other animals) cannot be used as a prophylaxis because the effective period after injection is only 5 days, and the antibody quickly disappears after 5 days.
