Morphological characteristics
Malan head can sprout buds every spring and autumn, with new shoots, plant clusters, plant height 30-60 cm, stem erect, stem 0.5-0.7 cm thick. Leaves alternate, 7 cm long, 2 cm wide, edge sparse coarse teeth or feathery lobed, or dimples, veins obvious, purple or dark green, spring picking the stems and leaves for vegetables called Malan head. Heads, flowers are lavender or yellowish, beginning in July, mature in October. Achene flat, dark brown, seed-free endosperm, able to reproduce. The roots were born within 10-20 cm of the soil layer.
