Sino-US cooperative cancer diagnostic company completes $40 million in Series B financing

The US-based cancer diagnostic company, Ankeji, has completed a $40 million Series B round of financing, which develops blood tests for free DNA sequencing to provide sensitive and accurate cancer diagnostics.

Investors participating in this round of financing include Junson Capital, Decheng Capital, Temasek, DT Capital, Nan Fung Capital and Stanford-StartX Fund.

The company is headquartered in Menlo Park, California, and was founded by Dr. Lin Shengwei, Zhaohui Sun, Paul Tang and Grace Zhao. The company has 20 employees in Silicon Valley and 45 employees in Shanghai, China.

Encore is developing the next generation of 61 gene sequencing assays to analyze circulating tumor DNA, and its existing products are undergoing clinical trials in China.

The company received a $6.9 million Series A financing led by Decheng Capital and Denlux Capital last year, along with Yifang Group Holdings Limited and WS Investment.

Encore also announced that Dan Zabrowski, director of sequencing and tissue diagnostics at Roche, and Kevin Liu, CEO of Junson Capital, will join the company's board of directors.
