Russian scientists invent medical devices that synthesize nitric oxide with air

Release date: 2018-06-28

In medical practice, inhaled nitric oxide is commonly used to treat pulmonary circulatory disorders. Nitric oxide is usually prepared chemically at a fixed site and sent to the hospital as a gas cylinder. According to a recent report by the Tass news agency, Russian scientists have developed the instrument "Tianox", which uses nitric oxide inhalation therapy to treat pulmonary circulatory disorders. This new device can directly absorb air and synthesize nitric oxide during the treatment process, so that it can no longer rely on cylinders. Significantly improve the convenience of treatment, its large-scale application will help to improve the average life expectancy of Russians.

Experts from the Russian Federal Nuclear Center said that this unique medical device has passed the final stage of clinical research, and there are no similar instruments in the world. The current market demand is up to 10,000 units, and they have received 1,000 actual orders, priced at 2.5 million rubles per unit. Experts stressed that this is a socially meaningful project, and the use of 1,000 instruments could increase the average life expectancy of Russians by 2.5 years.

The equipment is planned to be launched on the market in 2019. The total investment of the project is 2.3 billion rubles. It has obtained 5 Russian federal patents and plans to obtain patents in foreign markets next year.
