In order to save fishmeal in fish feed, Egyptian fishery researchers have used fish by-products as a partial or partial substitute for fishmeal in commercial feed. In the test feed, poultry by-products were used instead of 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100% of fish meal, and 150 Nile tilapia fish were evenly divided into 10 groups and fed for 60 days. The results showed that the use of poultry by-products instead of 25% and 50% of the fishmeal in the feed did not affect the growth of Nile tilapia, and the fish had higher protein efficiency and retention. Substituting poultry by-products for 75% and 100% of the fishmeal in the feed resulted in a reduction in the fish’s food intake. The fish that had a replacement rate of 100% had the worst growth and food intake. There was no significant difference in protein digestibility between the groups of tested fish, which ranged from 75% to 84%. The conclusion is that the partial replacement of fish meal by poultry by-products in tilapia feed has no adverse effect on its growth and feed utilization.
