The total value was 33.55 million US dollars, an increase of 85.8% year-on-year.

According to the latest statistical data from Fuzhou Customs, in addition to the negative growth in February, the export volume of Chinese medicine in the province showed a double growth in the rest of the month. In May alone, the total export volume increased by 1.2 times year-on-year to 345.7 tons. At the same time, after the average price of Chinese medicine exports jumped to the highest price since last year in March, it quickly fell sharply in March and rose for two consecutive months. “The average monthly export price in May was US$19.9 per kg, down 7% year-on-year, but up by 24.4% from the previous period.” According to the staff of relevant departments, in the first five months, the province’s largest export market for Chinese medicines was ASEAN, with 833.7 tons of exports. Volume accounted for half of the total exports of Chinese medicine in the province during the same period, and exports to Hong Kong and Taiwan also increased exponentially.

According to industry insiders, the global demand for Chinese medicine products has been increasing in recent years. At present, Chinese medicine has been developed in more than 160 countries and regions. Many countries, including Australia, South Africa, Canada, and the United Kingdom, have also recognized the status of Chinese medicine in the form of legislation, but the added value of Chinese medicine is not high, and price fluctuations are not high. Repeatedly, importing countries and regions have increased their technical barriers. In addition to strengthening publicity, the province’s exporters of traditional Chinese medicines should increase the proportion of Chinese herbal extracts and proprietary Chinese medicines, increase the overall technical content and added value of Chinese herbal products, strengthen the cultivation and exploitation of Chinese herbal medicines, and ensure the quality and yield of Chinese herbal medicines. , to reduce the impact of the ups and downs of Chinese herbal medicine output and prices.
