According to Chinanews.com, Japanese researchers said they have developed a new method of examination that can diagnose early colorectal cancer with a minimal amount of blood . The research report was published in the journal Nature Communications.
The development of this inspection method is from the National Cancer Research Center of Japan, the expert in the field of molecular cell research and treatment, and the team. The team found that colorectal cancer cells secrete a special particle in the blood of the human body. After investigating the blood of 194 patients with early colorectal cancer, they found that nearly half of the blood contained this particle. No such particles were detected in 191 people in the physical health group.
Previously, the method of stool testing was widely used, but the detection rate was very low and the effect was not satisfactory. The new test method requires less than one drop of blood. As long as the presence of special particles is observed, early colorectal cancer can be detected within one and a half hours.
At present, colorectal cancer has become the second highest incidence of cancer in Japan, and about 100,000 people suffer from this disease every year. Therefore, early diagnosis and treatment are very important.
Yokoya Hideo said that the new test method is more accurate than the previous ones, and hopes that the burden on patients can be further reduced, and that it will be widely used in a few years.
