One, build. When exposed cucumbers grow to about 20 centimeters in diameter, they are racked with bamboo poles 1-1.5 cm in diameter and 2-2.5 meters long. Pour water before the scaffolding and use a wet rack. Insert a bamboo pole perpendicularly to each side of the plant, and insert a bamboo pole at the end of each row in order to facilitate plant adjustment. Then, in the middle and upper part of each row of bamboo poles, they are tied together by ropes and fixed together.
Second, tie the vine
1. Tieman method. Generally when the quail grows to 25 centimeters or so, it starts to bind vines, and afterwards, every 3-5 leaves are tied once, and they are generally tied to the 1-2 points of the guava. When tying the vines for the first time, each pod is tied to a bamboo sash next to them. On the second tie, the first one was tied to the second one, the second one was tied to the third one, and so on. On the contrary, the third time of tying vines, the cucumber plants were distributed in an "S" shape in space to reduce height and suppress leggy.
2. Tied vines should pay attention to the problem. 1 When tying vines, the cultivars with strong growth potential are properly shrunk, weakening their growth potential. Put the weakly growing quail pods on the cultivars and promote their growth. Try to make the spigots at the same level as possible to ensure that the plants and leaves are evenly distributed in space, which is conducive to ventilation and light transmission. 2 The early weak plants should be tied and loosened. The plants that are growing vigorously should be tied late and tightly, and the plants should be drooped, suppress the growth of cucumbers, and promote the transmission of nutrients to the fruits. 3 When tying vines, the operation should be light, do not damage the leaves to prevent the invasion of bacteria.
Third, the plant adjustment. Through plant adjustment, adjusting the leaf area coefficient of cucumber and its uniform distribution in the space is conducive to ventilation and light transmission, improving the utilization of light energy, avoiding lengthiness, reducing loss, and ensuring the normal growth of melon.
1. Snoring For cucumbers dominated by the main vine, the lateral branches should be completely removed. However, before the cucumbers are tied to the vines (when the plants grow to about 25 cm), the collaterals should not be removed prematurely so as not to affect the growth of the cucumbers. It can be removed when the side branches grow to about 5-8 cm. After the cucumbers are bound, the lateral buds germinating on the main vines must be removed at any time.
2. Thinning and thinning fruit. Winter or early spring, low temperature, short-day conditions of nursery, is conducive to female flower differentiation of cucumber, if too many female flowers, sitting too much melon, you need to dredge off a part of female flowers or young melons, to ensure that healthy melons grow, reduce melon. Generally, the thinning and thinning of fruits should be carried out according to the principle of keeping one melon per 2-2.5 leaves. At the same time, male flowers, deformed fruits, and diseased fruits must be removed.
3. Remove tendrils. The tendrils tend to compete with the fruit for nutrients. This is especially true of the tendrils at the tap. It should be removed early. By removing the tendrils, it can also prevent its own climbing and winding, and facilitate the manual binding of vines, which is conducive to the rational distribution of plants in space.
4. Remove old leaves. The old leaves, diseased leaves and yellow leaves are removed in time to facilitate ventilation and light transmission, improve photosynthesis and reduce the incidence of pests and diseases. When picking leaves, do not pick too many leaves at a time, generally do not exceed 2-3 leaves at a time. Try to keep about 20 open leaves per plant.
5. Take heart. Generally when the cucumber grows to 30-35 leaves, the growing point of the main vine is removed to stop the growth of the guava, so that the plant concentrates the nutrient to the fruit to improve the quality of the cucumber, and can promote the formation of the melon. It is generally picked up 30 days before pulling.
