Aloe cultivation techniques

1. Land selection

Aloe is warm and humid climate, not cold, winter room temperature must not be less than 5 °C, dormancy should be dry. Hi well-drained, fertile sandy loam. Strict requirements on soil, resistance to drought and salinity, without the need for large-scale fertilizer management. However, the sun is sunny, and it is not impermeable to yin. In the shaded environment, it does not bloom.

2. Method of reproduction

Use cuttings, ramets or sowing. Often no seeds.

(1) Seeding Seeds Seeds are sown in the spring and need to be raised in sand and then transplanted.

(2) In the early spring, the ramets method is combined with the change basin, and the new plant and the mother plant's underground culm cut off from the mother plant are cut off and used as a seed plant. However, due to the small number of farrowings, this method requires less breeding.

(3) Cutting methods generally use cutting propagation. The method is to cut the small lateral branch between the base of the main stem and the leaf blade during the spring and summer, and carry out cuttings. Cut 10-15 cm of new shoots, use a knife to cut off from the base, place in the shade for 1 day, make the cut a little dry, insert in the culture soil. Insert a depth of 3-4 cm. After 1 week, it can be watered. It takes about 20-30 days to take root. The trunk can also cut off cuttings. Cutting time is better in spring to facilitate safe wintering. In frost-covered areas in the north, plastic greenhouses or greenhouses are used. Avoid watering in winter to prevent rot. It is usually planted in the spring of the second year. In the summer and autumn, the plants grow rapidly. In the first few years after the cuttings are planted, they should be changed once a year in the spring (placed with sand). The old strains were removed at the same time as the change of the pots, and the moderately selected young plants were planted. Watering was controlled during the period of easing after the upper pot, and the pot was placed outdoors in summer. Well ventilated and fully watered. Gradually control the watering after entering the autumn season. In the winter, keep the indoor sunlight at a temperature of no less than 5°C and keep the pots and soils dry properly to ensure safe wintering.

3. Field management

The seedlings must be irrigated after ramets, but should not be overly moist. When dry in summer, irrigation is performed once every 1-2 days, human urine is applied once every 3-4 weeks, and field weeds are removed. Move into the greenhouse in winter to prevent cold, and in summer, avoid strong direct sunlight.

4. Harvesting and Processing

In the season of vigorous growth and development of aloe, harvest and harvest the leaves of the base and middle part of the aloe (the tender leaves on the tip cannot be picked). After the leaves were removed, they were washed, sliced, and placed in the same weight of water. They were cooked with high heat for 3-4 hours and then filtered with gauze. The filtrate was concentrated to a thick consistency. Fresh leaves can be used with the mining.
