Brazil develops new biosensors: quickly test for Parkinson's disease

The National Nanotechnology Laboratory (LNNano) has developed a biosensor that can quickly test Parkinson's disease, dementia and some cancers, such as breast cancer, so that patients can know the condition at an early stage and start treatment early. The sensor is reported to be made of a piece of organic nano-transistor coated on a glass sheet that is extremely sensitive to an organic chemical called glutathione S-transferase (GST). This substance can be an important indicator for detecting Parkinson's disease, dementia and some cancers.

 
The report pointed out that the device is cheap, small in size and high in sensitivity, which is very suitable for the development of the popular detection tool in the future.
 
The research team is trying to replace the glass with a conductive paper to further reduce the price of the finished product, making it more portable, easier to produce, and easier to break down after use.
