Toxicity studies
Mice 50-100g crude drug/kg can be killed by intraperitoneal injection of liquid extracts and 50g crude drug/kg is also caused by guinea pigs. Intravenous injection of 20g crude drug/kg may cause falls, rapid breathing, and trembling. However, it can be gradually restored after half an hour. Each day, rabbit eyes were removed with a liquid extract for 1 month without damage to the eyes. No conjunctivitis was caused and pupil size was not affected.
